Soundcheck is a music listening game at playsoundcheck.app. This notice explains the information used to sign you in, save your progress, run games, and protect the service. For questions or requests about your account information, contact quentin@nassaulabs.com.

Google sign-in

When you sign in with Google, Soundcheck receives your Google account identifier, name, email address, and confirmation that Google has verified your email. These identify your account and let you return to your saved progress. Your name is used as your player name.

Soundcheck requests Google's basic identity permissions. It does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive, your contacts, or your Google password. Google identity tokens are checked during sign-in; Soundcheck does not save Google access tokens or refresh tokens in its account database.

Game information

Soundcheck stores your answers, scores, answer timing, game results, rating, progress, and related game timestamps. This information supports gameplay, matchmaking, scoring, and your game history.

In a duel, your opponent can see your player name, rating, how many rounds you have answered, and whether you have finished. Your email address and Google account identifier are not included in the opponent view.

Cookies and security information

Soundcheck uses an essential sign-in cookie that expires after seven days and a temporary sign-in protection cookie that lasts up to ten minutes. Signing out clears the sign-in cookie and revokes that session. You can also sign out on all devices from your account page.

The service processes network information needed to deliver requests. To limit repeated sign-in attempts, the application uses a keyed hash derived from your IP address in short-lived security counters. It also records service error identifiers and aggregate operational measurements to diagnose failures and monitor availability.

Service providers

Google handles Google sign-in. Amazon Web Services hosts Soundcheck and stores its account and game data. These services process information needed to provide those functions. Google also handles information under its own Privacy Policy.

Retention and your choices

Account information and cumulative game statistics do not expire automatically. Under the current configuration, detailed completed or canceled games and their history expire from normal access after 90 days. Expired database records may remain until cleanup completes, and backup copies may remain longer.

Sign-in sessions expire after seven days unless revoked sooner. Temporary sign-in attempts expire after ten minutes. Signing out, or removing Soundcheck's connection in your Google account, does not itself delete the account and game information already stored by Soundcheck.

Contact quentin@nassaulabs.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your account information. There is currently no account-deletion button in the app.
